What does a Sr. Project Leader do at Rinnai?
The Project Leader plans and delivers assigned cross-functional projects using established project management processes and governance. This role coordinates project teams, manages scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues, and provides clear reporting to support successful business outcomes

Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead assigned projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
- Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to clarify project objectives, scope, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, and success measures.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource requirements, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate activities and deliverables across participating functions.
- Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, assign actions, and follow up on commitments.
- Monitor project progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, and performance expectations.
- Identify, document, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes.
- Escalate significant risks, issues, decisions, and resource constraints through the appropriate governance channels.
- Prepare accurate and timely project status reports for sponsors, stakeholders, and PMO leadership.
- Support project financial tracking, including budgets, forecasts, and approved business-case assumptions.
- Coordinate with functional managers to identify project resource needs and address resource constraints.
- Apply established project governance, stage-gate, agile, or hybrid delivery practices, as appropriate for the assigned project.
- Maintain complete and current project records, including schedules, meeting notes, actions, decisions, risks, issues, and changes.
- Support project readiness reviews, gate reviews, implementation activities, and project closure.
- Confirm that project deliverables have been completed, accepted, and transitioned to the appropriate business owner.
- Document lessons learned and recommend practical improvements to project execution processes.
- Build positive working relationships and promote accountability among project team members.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- Experience in manufacturing environment is required.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience, including at least three years of direct project management or project leadership experience.
- Experience coordinating cross functional projects involving multiple departments or business functions.
- Working knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, change, resource, stakeholder, and communication management.
- Understanding of agile, waterfall, stage-gate, or hybrid project delivery approaches.
- Basic understanding of project budgets, forecasts, costs, benefits, and business-case assumptions.
- Experience in product development, operations, information technology, or business improvement projects preferred.
Skills
- Strong project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting skills.
- Strong meeting facilitation, action tracking, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare clear project plans, status reports, meeting documentation, and presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams,andSharePoint.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools.
Abilities
- Ability to independently manage assigned projects of moderate complexity using established processes and governance.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional activities and influence project team members without direct authority.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify project risks and issues, recommend practical solutions, and escalate matters when appropriate.
- Ability to communicate project information clearly and facilitate decisions, actions, and accountability.
- Ability to exercise appropriate discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to work professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners and travel up to 25% as needed.
