Additional Job Description
We’re looking for a frontend-focused developer who cares deeply about usability, visual polish, and intuitive user experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping how applications feel—not just how they function. Our applications are primarily server-rendered using ASP.NET MVC, with Razor views, Bootstrap, and jQuery for client-side behavior. Movement has already begun to modernize some of these applications to React. You’ll work across both the UI layer and the MVC view layer to deliver clean, usable, and well-structured interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine UI for web applications using Razor views, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Translate business requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
- Improve usability, layout, and visual consistency across applications
- Work within ASP.NET MVC to integrate UI with backend logic
- Collaborate with backend engineers to improve workflows and user experience
- Identify and proactively address UX and UI issues
Requirements
- Strong HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design skills
- Solid Bootstrap 5 understanding
- Solid JavaScript fundamentals (including jQuery or similar DOM manipulation)
- Working knowledge of C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Razor view engine
- Experience building polished, production-ready UI in server-rendered applications
- Ability to work comfortably across both frontend and MVC view layers
- Eye for layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, and usability
Nice to Have
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with design systems or reusable component libraries
- Experience modernizing legacy UI or progressively enhancing older applications
Success in Role
- Users can navigate features without confusion or training
- Interfaces feel clean, consistent, and intentional—not “default Bootstrap”
- UI integrates cleanly with MVC structure without excessive complexity
- The developer contributes ideas for improving UX, not just implementing specs
