Job Description:

At Regions, the Trading Applications Technical Lead is responsible for designing and implementing requirements for operation and data integration of trading platforms (Calypso or similar). This role functions end-to-end, including all front/middle/back-office operations, risk management and custom solutions for various derivatives such as Interest Rate (IR) Derivatives, Commodity Rate (CD) Derivatives, and Forex (FX) Derivatives. As a subject matter expert (SME), this role supports the trading platform by identifying and resolving issues, both technical and business related in nature.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements requirements for operation and data integration of trading platforms (Calypso or similar) from end-to-end, including all front/middle/back-office operations, risk management and custom solutions for various derivatives including IR, CD and FX Derivatives
  • Reviews and analyzes requirements by interacting with the Capital Markets lines of business
  • Configures the trading application based on the financial regulatory requirements
  • Implements, installs, and configures different modules of the trading system based on different line of business (LOB) requirement
  • Supports the trading platform by identifying and resolving issues faced, both technical and business in nature
  • Writes or guides the writing of documentation to describe derivative system operational flow, logic, and corrections
  • Supports writing, executing, and reviewing test cases for new implementations, upgrades, and bug fixes
  • Utilizes advanced understanding of the technical aspects of the trading platform, including operating system and architecture, to enable solving technical issues including performance
  • May manage and projects related to the trading platform design or administration

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related field
  • Eight (8) years of experience in supporting application design, administration, or related field

Preferences

  • Experience in trading application support (Calypso or similar)
  • Experience supporting a diverse range of financial products, including IR and CR Derivatives, Total Return Swap (TRS), Equities, Fixed Income, and FX products
  • Experience with event-driven systems for trading, events, and settlements, and integrating standard interfaces and connectors such as Bloomberg, FIX connectivity, and MarketWire

  • Familiarity with batch processing and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability during overnight batch cycles
  • Proficient in using Limit Authorization Service (LAS) API, Flex API for EQD, IRD, and CRD products, and Curve API for yield curve management
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong ability to think critically and solve complex problems, particularly in high-pressure situations
  • Understanding of database structures, including tables, indexes, views and store procedures
  • Understanding of incident management processes and service management tools

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC,. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$175,686.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:
