Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Executive Director provides leadership, guidance, support, and training to practice-based mid-levels in primary care, pediatric, and certain other ambulatory specialties. The Director is responsible for aligning job functions, compensation, training, processes, performance evaluations, and related areas for all ambulatory extenders. The executive director contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and consulting, and provides leadership to the organization.
- Provide oversight, direction and leadership to midlevel providers.
- Guide and lead mid-level provides to deliver expert medical care under the direction of a supervising physician.
- Maintain an effective operating environment which assures effective, efficient and safe operations of the department that responds to patient, physician, and staff needs.
- Maintains technical and clinical competency.
- Audits and review extender competency and functions within the service line to maintain alignment and appropriate compensation levels; builds metrics to quantitatively and qualitatively assess performance on individual and service line levels
- Provides oversight of extender records and documents to ensure compliance with State and National guidelines as they apply to extender practice
- Ensures all extenders fulfill annual competencies and maintain appropriate licensures and certifications
- Resolves physician concerns related to midlevel staffing and performance
- Oversees appropriate assessment of training and performance for all extenders
- Builds relevant partnerships with local, state, and national extender service organizations
- Leads or assists in the marketing of new extender programs such as intern/externships
- Manages talent acquisition for the extenders to ensure adequate staffing and succession planning
- Assists in preparation of annual performance reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia License for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing Required or
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with current license from the Georgia State Composite Board Required
- 5 years Demonstrated success in performing and training on key clinical procedures Required
- ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Georgia License for Advanced Practice Nursing Upon Hire Required or
- PA - Physician Assistant current license from the Georgia State Composite Board Upon Hire Required
