We are seeking a Regulatory Accounting and Reporting Analysts II to join our team. In this role, you will perform financial analysis and support regulatory reporting activities to meet the needs of both internal business partners and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings, as well as supporting more complex regulatory proceedings and rate cases.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, and able to manage changing priorities, assignments, and deadlines. Flexibility in workflow and work hours may be required to support key business and regulatory deliverables

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various regulatory related disclosures for Gas’ SEC and FERC Filings

  • Prepare rate of return and revenue requirement calculations

  • Provide rate case support through preparation of minimum filing requirements and exhibits

  • Perform routine and ad-hoc analysis of financial reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules

  • Collaborate with other areas of the company including accounting, treasury and operations in analyzing and resolving regulatory matters

Competencies and Requirements:

  • Understanding of accounting principles and concepts, including GAAP and FERC accounting

  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills, including the use of excel based models

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively within the team, across the GAS organization, and with external parties to analyze and resolve regulatory issues

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • An understanding or strong interest in regulatory accounting and rate making

  • An understanding or strong interest in plant accounting

  • An understanding or strong interest in tax accounting

  • An understanding or strong interest in budgeting and planning

Location:

This role is Hybrid (in the office 4 days a week), and located in Atlanta, GA

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required: B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance

Related Work Experience:

Required:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • 1 or more years of experience in regulatory accounting, regulatory finance, or a related area.

  • Experience supporting regulatory proceedings, rate cases, or other utility regulatory filings.

  • Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience. Specific Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting applications, or other enterprise software tools.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of Oracle Smart View for Office and Excel-based reporting tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle and/or PowerPlan, and enterprise financial reporting applications.
