Energy Innovation Projects Team Lead
JOB SUMMARY:
The Energy Innovation Projects Team Lead plays a vital role in supporting the utility’s mission to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to all customers. This position is a working team lead responsible for implementing projects leveraged by 3 rd party donations that deliver large-scale home and business efficiency and sustainability improvements, and for supervising 2 project coordinators who also manage project implementation activities.
Working collaboratively across internal departments and with external partners, including community organizations, local governments, and funding agencies, the Team Lead ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer affordability and community energy goals. This role combines hands-on project management with team leadership to drive impact and continuous improvement in program delivery and will report to the Energy Innovation Manager position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, or program implementation within a utility or related industry.
Strong understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and affordability programs in a regulated utility environment.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
Experience with program funding, and budget management preferred.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, coach, and develop a team of project coordinators responsible for design and implementation of statewide projects including weatherization programs, energy-efficiency initiatives, sustainability and community resilience efforts.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team and across departments.
Set clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans aligned with company priorities.
Project Coordination & Implementation
Plan, organize, and coordinate affordability-focused energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements in alignment with utility regulatory and performance standards.
Support program design and continuous improvement to maximize customer participation and measurable energy savings.
Collaboration & Partnership Development
Work cross-functionally with internal teams to integrate affordability strategies into existing and new utility programs.
Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, municipalities, and business customers to identify opportunities for project collaboration.
Represent the utility in community meetings, workshops, and stakeholder forums focused on energy affordability and sustainability.
Funding & Resource Management
Support in identifying and pursuing external funding sources, grants, and partnerships that support affordability initiatives.
Support in preparing and managing funding proposals, ensuring compliance with grant and regulatory requirements.
Track project budgets and ensure responsible financial management across all initiatives.
Customer & Community Engagement
Coordinate outreach efforts to increase awareness and participation in utility affordability and efficiency programs.
Support customer enrollment and participation in programs such as weatherization, energy audits, and renewable installations.
Collect and analyze customer feedback to improve program design and delivery.
Data & Reporting
Monitor program performance against key metrics such as energy savings, cost reduction, and customer impact.
Develop reports for internal leadership and regulatory filings as required.

Maintain accurate documentation and project records for compliance and evaluation purposes.
