- Bachelor's degree in related field
Certification Summary
- National Athletic Trainer’s Association certified athletic trainer (ATC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Clinical competencies in treatment aspects for sports medicine patients
- In-depth knowledge of basic training program principles for variety of sports
- Good mental and physical health
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical competence in the provision of effective service delivery appropriate to the patient’s specific needs and diagnosis
- Understands medical diagnosis and treatment interventions.
- Follows established rehabilitation protocols based on diagnosis.
- Provides education to parent and patients in an ongoing fashion via text, phone, or email.
- Completes charge sheets on each patient and submits daily.
- Completes documentation on a daily basis with appropriate content.
- Demonstrates effective use of time for direct and indirect patient care and departmental responsibilities.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement.
- Delivers competent age-appropriate patient care, integrating infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, body mechanics, and knowledge of growth and development.
- Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral as necessary.
- Participates in maintaining and monitoring the work environment to ensure a continual state of Joint Commission readiness.
